Born in Bar Harbor and raised in the village of Somesville, Nicole Richardson offers buyers and sellers something truly invaluable in Downeast Maine real estate: deep local roots paired with a global perspective. Having spent her life exploring the villages, shorelines, and neighborhoods of Mount Desert Island and surrounding Downeast communities, she provides clients with authentic insight into what makes each town, harbor, and island unique—and how to find the perfect fit.
Nicole helps clients navigate every step of the buying and selling process with clear communication, responsive follow-through, and steady guidance. Having personally built a home with her husband Kyle, a local contractor, she understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities of owning property in coastal Maine—from land and shoreline regulations to seasonal markets and lifestyle priorities. Clients value not only her expertise but also her calm, solutions-oriented approach to what can be an emotional decision.
Before entering real estate, Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from California State University San Marcos. She spent over a decade working in hospitality sales, marketing, and wedding event management in coastal destinations including San Diego, St. Thomas (USVI), and New Zealand—experience that refined her service mindset and negotiation skills, now a hallmark of her real estate practice.
Deeply invested in the community she serves, Nicole is President of the Conners Emerson Elementary PTSA, President of the Acadia Council of the Mid-Coast Board of REALTORS®, and a volunteer with Island Connections, helping community members remain connected and independent.
While coastal Maine will always be home, Nicole and her family have also fallen in love with the Western Maine Mountains—especially the Carrabassett Valley and Stratton area—where they’re building a getaway for winter skiing and snowmobiling. This growing connection gives her clients valuable perspective on Maine’s varied lifestyles, from village harbors to mountain trails.
When she’s not assisting clients, Nicole can be found hiking, boating through Acadia National Park, or exploring Maine’s islands with her family. Whether you’re seeking a waterfront retreat, a village home, or preparing to sell a cherished property, she offers knowledgeable guidance, trusted advocacy, and a genuine love for the Maine way of life.
