Jeff Allen’s deep connection to Maine began on the Blue Hill Peninsula, where he grew up, and has evolved into a lifelong passion for both the beauty and business of the Pine Tree State. With decades of experience living and working in Maine, Jeff brings an unmatched depth of local knowledge and a strong commitment to helping clients discover the best the state has to offer—whether they’re searching for their first home, a vacation retreat, or a luxury waterfront estate.
After earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University, Jeff began his career in the corporate world. In 1993, he returned to Maine to run his family’s blueberry business, G.M. Allen & Son, Inc., founded by his grandfather in 1912. This experience provided him with valuable insights into Maine’s agricultural economy and helped build the strong work ethic he carries into every real estate transaction.
In 2002, Jeff and his wife Tina purchased Fairwinds Florist and soon after were introduced to the real estate world through a waterfront subdivision project. Mentored by Vance B. Gray, the former owner of Downeast Properties, the couple purchased the 50+ year-old luxury real estate firm in 2004 and successfully led it for the next two decades. Now, after 21 years at the helm, Jeff is excited to join Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty and bring his experience to their statewide team of top-producing agents.
With over 20 years of experience in Maine’s luxury and second-home markets, Jeff is a skilled negotiator with a deep understanding of local market dynamics. His personalized approach and longstanding relationships in the region allow him to serve buyers and sellers with confidence and care.
Outside of real estate, Jeffrey is active in the community and committed to service. A Navy veteran, he has coached youth sports, served as a deacon, and held roles as a town selectman and Chamber of Commerce board member. He is also a Master Mason with the IRA Berry Lodge and has hosted international students attending George Stevens Academy, where he served on the Board of Trustees.
Jeff enjoys spending time with his three grown children and three grandchildren and has partnered in real estate with his youngest son, Parker. He shares a passion for cooking, fishing, golfing, and boating with his family, and splits his time between Maine and his second home in Vero Beach, Florida.
