The sweetest weekend of the year is almost here, and we’re inviting you to indulge in the deliciousness of Maine Maple Syrup as we celebrate Maine Maple Sunday!
Hosted on 23-24 March by the Maine Maple Producers Association, this year marks the 41st annual Maine Maple Sunday weekend, and it promises to be a memorable one.
Spring is the perfect time to explore the beauty of Maine, and what better way to do so than by immersing yourself in the rich tradition of maple syrup production? From the northern woods to the southern coastline, sugarhouses all over the state will be opening their doors to visitors, offering maple-themed activities and treats.
Each of the sugarhouses offers different events and activities including tours of the sap lines and demonstrations of sap boiling; tastings of treats like maple syrup-drizzled pancakes and ice cream; and even games, hayrides and face painting. One favorite treat is drizzling maple syrup onto snow and rolling it into a ball at the end of a wooden spoon or popsicle stick for an icy-sweet maple taffy lollipop.
Did you know? Somerset County in Maine is the largest maple syrup-producing county in the U.S.
So grab your family and friends and join us for a weekend filled with sweet memories and maple-filled delights. Whether you’re a lifelong Mainer or visiting for the first time, Maine Maple Sunday is an experience not to be missed.
