Northeast Harbor, Maine (July 2025) – Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to welcome Marty Dischinger to its Northeast Harbor office.
“Marty is a welcome addition to our team of top-notch real estate agents. She is well known and highly respected among both agents and clients,” states Chris Lynch, President of Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty. “Marty has built an impressive track record of success in Hancock County. Her experience and professionalism make her a great fit for our company.”
With a dynamic career spanning decades and regions, Marty brings a unique blend of business acumen, creative flair, and deep local knowledge to Maine’s luxury real estate market. She attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she studied drama, and later earned a business degree from Katherine Gibbs in Boston. Marty began her professional journey in Maryland, where she worked with the Rouse Company during the foundational development of Columbia, a visionary new city between Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.
As Baltimore’s Inner Harbor underwent a vibrant renaissance, Marty became a partner and owner of a real estate office, successfully navigating the city’s evolving waterfront market. Her passion for historic preservation and design also led her into the antiques world.
Marty’s lifelong connection to Maine drew her and her spouse to Mount Desert Island, where they began spending summers. Enchanted by the natural beauty and community spirit, they ultimately chose to settle there permanently. Since then, Marty has become one of the region’s most successful luxury home specialists, known for her integrity, expertise, and deep commitment to her clients.
In addition to real estate, Marty co-owned a well-regarded antiques business on the Blue Hill Peninsula and remains deeply involved in the community. She is a past president of the Brooklin Garden Club, a former trustee at The Bay School, and an active volunteer with various nonprofits. She currently serves on the board of directors at The Shaw Institute in Blue Hill, a global leader in marine and environmental research founded by ecotoxicologist Dr. Susan Shaw.
Outside of work, Marty is a competitive pétanque player with the Maine Boules Club, an avid traveler to Italy, and a devoted mother and grandmother. She loves to garden, entertain, and share Maine’s extraordinary lifestyle with both newcomers and lifelong residents alike.
